Opposition Spokesperson on Health, Dr Morais Guy is recommending that the Health Ministry carries out more community- based drives to reach persons who are due their second dose of the Covid- 19 vaccine but have not shown up to take the jab. Many persons who have received the first dose of the vaccine have not gone for the second dose.

Of the over 1 million doses of Covid 19 vaccines administered in Jamaica to date, over 624 thousand were first doses, 466, 953 were second doses and 73, 103 were single doses.

According to Dr Guy the Ministry should utilise community health aids to reach citizens who are due their second shot.

He said more private health facilities should also be engaged.
