Opposition leader calls for full audit of RADA’s road rehab program

Opposition leader Dr. Peter Phillips is calling for a full financial audit of the Rural Agricultural Development Authority, RADA farm road rehabilitation program.

At the same time Dr. Phillips has called for the Ministers affiliated with agriculture to step aside while the audit is being conducted.

Dr. Phillips’ calls followed the Auditor General’s findings last month that RADA failed to provide evidence that the ministry approved the diversion of funds allocated for farm roads towards the repair of non-farm roads.

The Auditor General’s report had also raised concerns regarding the transparency of the selection process for the roads to be rehabilitated.
