The Opposition has expressed disappointment about the 2% increase in the budget allocation for education in the 2019/20 Estimates of Expenditure.

Opposition Spokesman on Education, Reverend Ronald Thwaites said when inflation is factored in, this translates to less money available to be spent on education and training when compared to last year.

He stated that this weak education spend is ‘unacceptable’.
