Come October, content subscription service ‘OnlyFans’ is expected to stop its support for sexually explicit content, which was the reason for its rapid growth.

First reported by Bloomberg on Thursday, the company says it will stop allowing its users, specifically creators who offer subscriptions, to share such content starting October 1st. Reports also say that payment processors MasterCard and Visa had cut ties with a similar site over allegations of child sexual abuse material, among other things.

The photo and video-sharing site has been struggling to attract investors so pivoting somewhat is in their best interest. In a released statement OnlyFans said, “In order to ensure the long-term sustainability of our platform and to continue to host an inclusive community of creators and fans, we must evolve our content guidelines”.

Users, however, will still be able to post nude photos and videos, provided they adhere to the new company guidelines.

The company is projected to grow to $1.2 billion in 2021 and then $2.5 billion in 2022.
