The National Water Commission NWC says it is taking a zero tolerance approach against persons who are classified as being delinquent or illegally using water and who fail to take up the NWC’s offer for settlement of outstanding balances.
The water supply entity says its actively pursuing such persons, via vigorous disconnections as well as with prosecutions and arrests.
Last month, 14 individuals were prosecuted for various offences related to the illegal use of water and are being processed to appear before the courts.
Additionally the company says civil lawsuits are being prepared for another 36 delinquents who have failed to make settlement with the NWC.
