President of the Nurses Association of Jamaica, NAJ, Patsy Edwards-Henry says, some nurses have lost their motivation to work, especially since some are yet to be paid for working at the vaccination blitz sites in March and April.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness had said that over 80% of the nurses who worked during the blitz for those months had been paid, adding that those who had not received payment, either had no banking information or had their banking information rejected by Government’s Financial Management system, due to dormant bank accounts and incorrect account information.

However, Mrs. Edwards-Henry says she hopes, that the Government can find a solution to the pay issues, so nurses can conduct their duty of care with more enthusiasm.
