The government has amended the order under the Disaster Risk Management Act DRMA to facilitate increased attendance at worship services.

The number of persons allowed at church services has been increased to 50, effective this Saturday September 25.

The physical distancing requirement of 6 feet between persons must be maintained, otherwise the number allowed remains at 20.

A statement from the Office the Prime Minister OPM explains that the change was made in recognition of the importance of allowing in-person and not only virtual worship.

The OPM says it is important to note that Sundays remain no movement days. However for the purposes of worship and within the limits outlined churchgoers are allowed to move between 7 am and 3 pm.
