North West, the daughter of media mogul Kim Kardashian and music icon Kanye West, is clearly carving out her own lane in music.
The 12-year-old has been making headlines recently, first for her alternative sense of style sparking debates online about age-appropriate fashion, but the conversation is shifting from what she’s wearing to what she’s creating.
North recently earned her first official production credit after producing the beat for JustSwagUp, a track by rapper Mag!c featuring Lil Novi, the son of Lil Wayne. Since the song’s release, she’s been sharing unreleased beats and snippets on Instagram and TikTok, with listeners praising her raw ear and unmistakable Kanye-aligned sound.
This isn’t her first step into music. North previously appeared on her father’s Vultures album on the track BOMB, also lending vocals to Childlike Things from FKA twigs’ EUSEXUA project.
