The Electoral Office of Jamaica EOJ says it is fully prepared to receive nominations of candidates, for the by-election in the constituency of Clarendon South Eastern.
Nomination will take place today from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Vere Technical High School.
The Jamaica Labour Party JLP will be fielding Pearnel Charles Jr as its candidate.
Its not clear if Mr. Charles will be challenged, as both the Opposition People’s National Party PNP and the United Independent Congress have stated that they will not be contesting the by-election.
Meanwhile, Senator Pearnel Charles Jr bid farewell to the Senate yesterday, as he attempts to enter representational politics.
He is to contest the March 4 By-election in Clarendon South East, to replace Ruddy Spencer who resigned as Member of Parliament last week.
Mr. Charles Junior is to be nominated today.
