NO LEADS YET IN KILLING OF DR LYNVALE BLOOMFIELD

Investigators from the Major Investigation Division, so far, have not established any leads in this morning’s killing of Dr Lynvale Bloomfield, People’s National Party (PNP) Member of Parliament for Portland Eastern.

Bloomfield was reportedly stabbed to death at his home at Passley Gardens, Portland.

Meanwhile…….The Opposition People’s National Party PNP says it is “shocked, shaken and saddened” by news of the slaying of East Portland Member of Parliament, Dr Lynvale Bloomfield.

PNP President Dr Peter Phillips, in a statement said the lawmaker’s death “must not be allowed to go unpunished.”

Phillips said the police “must employ what is necessary” for a full and complete investigation “and the perpetrators must be brought to justice.”

The PNP president lauded Bloomfield as someone who devoted years of his life in service to the Jamaican people, both as a medical doctor and an elected representative.

Bloomfield was found stabbed to death at his home in Passley Gardens, Portland shortly after 10:00 this morning (Sat).

Despite reports that the lawmaker was stabbed to death, law enforcement sources say the police are still trying to determine how he died.

Police sources say the body was found by one of his employees.
