Nick Reiner, the 32-year-old son of Rob and Michele Reiner, has been arrested and charged with his parents' murder following the discovery of their bodies at their Los Angeles home.
Authorities say the case is being treated as a murder investigation, with Nick booked earlier today and held on $4 million bail.
The couple were found with their throats slit, and one of their daughters reportedly discovered the bodies.
Police have not released further details, and the investigation is ongoing.
Rob Reiner was a renowned filmmaker and actor. He directed acclaimed films including This Is Spinal Tap, Stand by Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, Misery, and A Few Good Men.
As an actor, he appeared in several of his own films and played Max Belfort, the father of Jordan Belfort, in The Wolf of Wall Street, along with recent appearances in The Bear.
