New York City is moving ahead with plans to create a dedicated bus lane along part of Tremont Avenue in the Bronx.
The new busway is expected to make daily commutes faster for about 39,000 bus riders by giving buses their own lane during peak hours.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani says the project will reduce traffic delays, improve road safety and save commuters valuable time.
The city also plans to gather public feedback on similar bus service improvements in parts of Brooklyn, where about 150,000 people use buses each day.
