Warner Brothers is developing a film titled 'With the 8th Pick', centered on the dramatic events of the 1996 NBA Draft that brought Kobe Bryant to the Lakers instead of the Nets.
Written by Alex Sohn and Gavin Johannsen, the movie is described as a draft-day thriller similar in tone to Moneyball and Air.
It will be produced by Tim and Trevor White, Ryan Stowell, and Gotham Chopra, and will explore the critical two weeks leading up to the draft.
