Netflix Responds to Diddy’s Cease and Desist Over Docuseries

Share

Netflix is defending its upcoming four-part Diddy documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning after receiving a cease and desist letter from Diddy’s legal team.

The letter claims the documentary is a biased “hit piece,” criticizes 50 Cent’s involvement as an executive producer, and alleges Netflix previously failed to sell Diddy on a different documentary idea.

It also accuses the production of paying interviewees and using illegally obtained footage, including video from just before Diddy’s arrest.

Netflix denies all accusations, saying the footage was legally obtained, no one was paid, and 50 Cent did not have creative control.

Diddy’s team says they won’t comment on individual allegations made in the film, which includes interviews with former Bad Boy artists.

The documentary arrives after Diddy’s conviction on two Mann Act violations and his 50-month prison sentence, during which fake images of him behind bars have circulated online.
