Netflix has confirmed a sequel to KPop Demon Hunters, with directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans returning under a new multiyear animation deal.
The original film, starring K-pop group HUNTR/X, became Netflix’s most popular title, with over 500 million views and a Grammy-winning soundtrack.
It is nominated for Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards, and Netflix praised the directors for creating a global fandom and breaking cultural barriers.
The sequel is in early development, with the original voice cast including Arden Cho, Ji-young Yoo, and May Hong, and songs by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami.
