Netflix just shelled out 30 million US dollars for a documentary about Kanye West.

The series, which has been in the making for 21 years, is said to include never-before-seen footage of West and will cover his career in music, fashion, his failed 2020 Presidential bid and the death of his mother, Donda West.

According to reports, the multi-part series will focus on Yeezy’s rise to success and the impact fame had on his well-being. The series will also focus on Hip-Hop’s impact on popular culture as well as the world’s fascination with the celebrity.

The project, which is not yet titled, is the work of “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah, also known as Coodie & Chike, who directed two of West’s first music videos, ‘Through the Wire’ and the third iteration of ‘Jesus Walks’.

According to Billboard, the Netflix project is expected to be released this year.

A spokesperson for the streaming service declined to comment on the series.
