The National Environment and Planning Agency NEPA is advising the public to take precautions in areas close to swamps, rivers, gullies and other known crocodile habitats , as the animals are likely to be displaced during the heavy rains.

The agency also says Entities that handle and store hazardous wastes and trade effluent are advised to ensure containment systems are properly secured and otherwise have sufficient capacity so as not to cause a discharge to impact the environmental assets.

Senior Public Education and Community Outreach Officer, National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA), Ava Tomlinson tells us more.
