National census soon to be codified in law

The census being conducted by the Statistical Institute of Jamaica, or Statin, will shortly be incorporated into law.

Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke made the news yesterday (July 26) when updating the lower house on the census preparations for the year 2022.

Among other things, Dr. Clarke mentioned that over 7,000 people had been sought out to work as census takers.

The minister said that September 12 will be designated as National Census Day in addition to the census being written into law.
