Veteran entertainers Nadine Sutherland, Rodney ‘Bounty Killer’ Price, Moses ‘Beenie Man’ Davis, and Glendon ‘Admiral Bailey’ Bailey will be awarded the Order of Distinction (Officer Class) for their contribution to the development of Jamaican music.
The awards will be presented during the annual ceremony at King’s House on October 21 this year to celebrate National Heroes Day.
The entertainers are among 150 Jamaicans who were announced earlier today (6 August) as part of our Independence Day celebration.
If you recall, fans of both Bounty and Beenie called for them to be awarded after Wayne Marshall was given the distinction last year.
They now sit among a select few artistes who have been awarded the distinction. Shabba Ranks, Shaggy, Sean Paul, Agent Sasco, Yellowman, and Lieutenant Stitchie were also awarded the nation's 6th highest honour.
Ziptocrats, which other artistes would you like to be given an Order of Jamaica?
