Well, in case you have been under a rock, let us get you up to speed. A lot has been happening on social media since yesterday.
Abihail Myrie, daughter of Jamaican reggae artiste, Buju Banton took to social media to accuse him of being abusive.
She posted pictures on her Instagram that that showed her with cuts and bruises, alleging that she was abused by her father. The posts have since been deleted, but not before several users took screenshots and shared the images on social media.
Abihail’s online activity led several users to theorise that her page was hacked.
Abihail’s safety became a concern for many when the police reported that family members said she had not been seen or heard from since last Saturday (Oct, 9).
An already emotion-filled day took another turn when a tweet from Abihail Myrie’s Twitter account said “I am not missing”, dispelling earlier reports from the police.
She questioned how could she be missing for 3 days and her family be silent, ‘everybody label and know me as “buju’s daughter” ok buju daughter missing and buju..is..silent??
In another cryptic Tweet, she said “They are trying to kill me…they do this to anyone who tries to speak out.”
In March 2019, another of Buju’s children, Markus Myrie, had made similar allegations of abuse against him.
