Murders Still Rising

Jamaica’s murder tally for 2021 continues to rise with 146 murders recorded up to Friday. This represents a 7% increase from 136 for the corresponding period last year.
 Shootings are also up by 20% as there have been 134 shooting incidents since the start of the year, 22 more than this time last year.
Meantime the Jamaica Constabulary Force, JCF said some crimes are trending down to include rape which is down by 57%.
Break-ins are down by 27% while robbery is down by 7%.
