The Manchester police are urging motorists, particularly truck drivers to exercise greater caution as they traverse the Melrose Hill roadway over the next few months.
Effective tomorrow, east-bound traffic will be diverted from the Melrose hill bypass to the old Melrose hill road. This is to facilitate continued works on the May Pen to Williamsfield leg of Highway 2000 over the next 7 months.
Divisional Commander, Superintendent Lloyd Derby said officers will assist in directing motorists for one week, during the initial phase of the implementation of the traffic changes.
He’s urging drivers to obey posted road signs and instructions of flag persons.
