Roots reggae singer Mortimer is mourning the loss of his mother.
The "Lightning" singer took to his Instagram to share his grief in an emotional post yesterday (August 11).
The carousel of photos of his mother and himself stated, “I can’t put into words how I feel. There is just an emptiness. I didn’t even get to say goodbye ’cause I’m on tour all the way in France. I’ve never felt so broken.”
Scores of fellow entertainers offered their condolences in the comments, including Romain Virgo, Lila Ike, Jahlil Music, Morgan Heritage, and Alaine.
This morning (August 12), Mortimer revealed in his Instagram story that he’d been listening to old voice notes and rereading messages from his mother as he tries to cope with the loss.
