Mortimer and Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley have the new visual for their recent collaboration, “In My Time.”
Like the song, the new visual — directed by Pete Beng — takes stock of the state of the world in several clever, surreal, and haunting ways.
In a statement, Mortimer said he wrote “In My Time” while feeling “overwhelmed by the state of humanity… The trickery; the injustice towards others, and even ourselves; the hypocrisy and imbalance in our approach to life and living.”
He also channeled this sensibility into the music itself, working with producer Winta James to create the song that he says could “reflect the feeling of the times; spooky and aggressive at the same time. Ghostly in a way; heart pulling, emotional.”
“In My Time” appears on Mortimer’s debut album, From Within, which arrived back in September via Overstand Entertainment and Easy Star Records.
