Morgan Heritage may have just become the first reggae band to release music, via the digital realm.

The two-time Grammy Award-winning Reggae band has released three songs as limited-edition Non-Fungible Tokens NFTs, in partnership with Bondly Finance.

They recently revealed that their NFT’s for one of the three songs titled “Light It Up,” which features Norwegian singer PelleK, has already sold out.

“Light It Up,” became available on April 17. The other two tracks were digitally remastered and will reportedly be featured on the band’s upcoming album, ‘Legacy’.

Meanwhile, just recently, another reggae recording artist Bay-C also released his music as an NFT.

He has his own token, dubbed the BayC coin, and a limited collection of the single ‘Holy Temple’ is now available for purchase on Rarible and OpenSea platforms.

NFTs have been creating quite a buzz in the digital art and music worlds since the start of 2021, as they allow creators to sell their content directly to their fans, cutting out the traditional middle man. As NFTs become more popular, early owners of these collectibles will not only own the first set, but will most likely see the value of these collectibles rise in value.
