More than 400 people have been murdered in the country since the start of the year.

This as up to Sunday April 30, 409 murders were recorded.

According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force JCF, this is 84 than the 489 recorded in the corresponding period last year.

St. James recorded the highest number of murders with 54, followed by Clarendon with 39.

Meanwhile, there were declines in rapes, robberies and break-ins.
