Senior Strategist in the Tourism Ministry, Delano Seiveright says the Ministry is looking at ways to ensure that all stakeholders benefit from the return of cruise ships to Ocho Rios, St. Ann.

Yesterday (August 16), the first cruise ship since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic-The Carnival Sunshine, docked in Ocho Rios with some 3000 persons aboard.

However, only some persons were allowed to interact with the tourists.

Some persons including ground transport operators are calling on the Government to implement a plan that will allow them to benefit financially from the return of the cruise ships.

Mr. Seiveright acknowledged that there were challenges at the pier yesterday, but noted that some stakeholders benefited financially.

He said efforts will be made to ensure that other stakeholders also benefit.
