The Met Service of Jamaica says a tropical wave, which is expected to move across the island today, is producing unstable weather across the island.

The Met Service said most parishes should continue experiencing scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, while eastern parishes should expect lingering showers and thunderstorms in the night.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are also expected to affect most parishes throughout the weekend.

The Met Service also said that a trough will remain in the vicinity of Jamaica until Sunday when a high pressure ridge will start to build across the Caribbean.
