The first Monkeypox patient has fully recovered and has been officially released.

Acting Regional Director of the Southern Regional Health Authority Dr. Bradley Edwards, said the male patient was released two days ago.

Dr. Edwards said relatives of the first patient, continue to be monitored.

He said one relative showed signs that were of concern and officials are awaiting the results of a confirmation test.

Meanwhile, the second Monkeypox patient who is also in Clarendon, remains under quarantine at home.

In light of concerns raised about adherence to the quarantine orders, after the first patient left the hospital, Dr. Edwards said the second patient does not pose a security risk.
