The 74th Miss Universe competition has concluded seeing, Fatima Bosch, Miss Mexico, named Miss Universe 2025.
The 2025 edition of the international beauty pageant in Thailand was marked by scandals from day one. Bosch, who would later emerge victorious over 134 contestants,  publicly called out pageant director Nawat Itsaragrisil for rudely dismissing her during the sashing ceremony. The incident triggered immediate backlash, prompting several delegates, including the reigning Miss Universe 2024, to walk out in solidarity.
What followed was a series of stepping down of judges from the 8-member panel, beginning with Omar Harfouch, who claimed that there was an unfair pre-selection of delegates who would make the pageant's semi-finals. Next was Claude Makélélé, who left citing unforeseen personal reasons. Then, on the day of the finals, hours before the ceremony, Princess Camilla di Borbone delle Due Sicilie, president of the Miss Universe selection committee, stepped down.
Not to mention Miss Universe Jamaica Gabrielle Henry, who fell off the stage during the pageant's preliminary round, the day before finals. Gabrielle, unfortunately, withdrew from the competition on the advice of medical professionals. According to a statement released by her family earlier today, Gabrielle's fall resulted in a head injury and lacerations to her chin and foot. She is reportedly still being treated at a Bangkok hospital in the intensive care unit. She is being supported abroad by her mother, Maureen Henry, and her sister, Dr Phylicia Henry-Samuels.
