“Mind boggling” move by National Sports Council of Barbados after Archer’s nomination

A recent decision by the National Sports Council of Barbados to nominate English Cricketer, Jofra Archer, for the 2019 sports personality of the year has sent tongues wagging in that country.

While there are arguments on both sides, the NSC’s decision to nominate Archer is somewhat surprising, because since choosing England, he has done very little to promote Barbados or the West Indies.

The 24-year-old Archer was born in Barbados to a Barbadian mother and English Father which allowed him to secure British citizenship.
