The Meteorological Service has upgraded the Flash Flood Watch to a Flash Flood Warning for low-lying and flood-prone areas of St. Thomas, Kingston and St. Andrew, St. Catherine, Clarendon, and Manchester
The Met Service has also maintained the Flash Flood Watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas of St. Elizabeth and Westmoreland, and issued a Flash Flood Watch for Portland and St. Mary.
They will be in effect until 8am on Friday.
The Heavy rains left several roads across the corporate area were flooded today.
Among the roadways impacted were Marcus Garvey Drive, the Grants Pen Ford and Bird Sucker lane, off Barbican in St. Andrew.
According to the latest update from the police, several of these roadways were re-opened to vehicular traffic.
