Megan Thee Stallion’s Attorney Responds To Tory Lanez’s Alleged New Evidence

Share

Megan Thee Stallion’s attorney has hit back at Tory Lanez’s camp after the release of some new witness audio.

More than two years after Lanez was found guilty of shooting Megan, his legal team shared police audio that purportedly supports his innocence.

As pointed out by celebrity website TMZ, the recording features the voice of Sean Kelly, a Los Angeles eyewitness who told police he thought a woman opened fire on the night of the 2020 shooting. Lanez’s attorney argued that Kelly’s account aligned with Lanez’s claim that it was Megan’s former friend Kelsey Harris who shot Megan in the foot. However, Megan’s lawyer, Alex Shapiro, dismissed the audio.

The Kelly audio was also posted on 360hourslater.com, a website that features video and transcripts related to the shooting case. The site also points to Megan’s initial comments to law enforcement and her claim that she injured her foot by stepping on glass. Megan later explained she downplayed her injuries to protect herself and others around her.

Lanez was ultimately found guilty of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. He received a 10-year prison sentence in August 2023.
