This morning, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit revealed Megan Thee Stallion as one of three cover stars of its 2021 issue.
The three-time Grammy-winning artiste is the first rapper to land a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover. The ‘Savage’ singer shared her excitement with all fans and followers. “REAL SPORTS ILLUSTRATED SWIMSUIT EDITION COVER MODEL…!!! Thee first female rapper on the cover of @si_swimsuit, I want to thank all the strong women in my life who inspired me to love my body and live my best hot girl life. It means the world to me to be on this cover DREAM COME TRUE!!” she captioned the post on Instagram.
The iconic photo shows meg wearing a beige two-piece swimsuit with beachy waves in her hair.
In a behind the scenes video from her shoot, Meg stated, “I was the little girl who was looking at Sports Illustrated like, ‘One day, this is gonna be me.’ And I manifested it. I wanted to do it and now I’m here”.
Megan isn’t the only person creating history with the coveted magazine. In addition to the rap star, Sports Illustrated will also feature the magazine’s first transgender model of colour, Leyna Bloom, as well as tennis superstar, Naomi Osaka .
