Mayor Warns Carnival Organisers & Stakeholders About Garbage Clean-up!

Share

Kingston Mayor, Andrew Swaby has warned that there must not be a repeat of last year post carnival garbage problem during his year's staging of the event.

Carnival in Jamaica 2025 is set for April 23-30 with several watch parties and activities to be held in the week, with the highlight being the road march scheduled for Sunday April 27.

Last year, in the wake of the road march, patrons left the streets of Kingston littered and despite attempts by band organisers to clean up, the bulk of the work was carried out by the National Solid Waste Management Authority, NSWMA.

Mayor Swaby later met with carnival organisers and other stakeholders as to discuss the issue and formulate measures to prevent a recurrence at future events.
