Masicka “strongly disputes” ownership and intellectual property claims against his music amidst YouTube battle

Fans of Masicka who've noticed a lack of the dancehall artiste's music Youtube finally have their answer.
The deejay revealed today that due to a copyright claim filed earlier this year against some of his recent hits including 'Whites', 'Rich Sex' and 'Mute', the songs and visuals were removed from the video sharing platform. Masicka, real name Javaun Fearon, went on to explain in his statement that him and his team "take intellectual property and creative ownership seriously and strongly disputes theme claims."
According to the 4th Genna, his legal team are addressing the manner seriously and taking the necessary steps to have the content restored. He also took the moment to publicly assure his fans that "all songs released by Javaun Fearon were written by Javaun Fearon and released through the proper channels."
Coming off the back of a packed ending to 2025 with his latest project Her Name is Love and weeks long clash with felow dancehall artiste Tommy Lee, Masicka has been taking some time out of the spotlight and focusing on scheduled performances, including the upcoming SummerJam festival in July and an appearance at the MOBO Awards where he is nominated for Best Caribbean Music Act.
