Malcolm-Jamal Warner Dies at 54 in Accidental Drowning

Malcolm-Jamal Warner, best known as Theo Huxtable on The Cosby Show, has died at 54.
According to People, Warner drowned over the weekend while swimming during a family vacation in Costa Rica.
Warner drowned off the coast of Costa Rica yesterday (July 20), the Costa Rican National Police told ABC News. His official cause of death was asphyxia.
He died near Cocles Beach in Limón, where police said he was caught in a strong current and found Sunday afternoon.
Costa Rica’s national police formally identified Warner.
Warner starred in all eight seasons of The Cosby Show, earning an Emmy nomination for his role. He later appeared in Malcolm & Eddie, Reed Between the Lines, Sons of Anarchy, and Jeremiah, and made guest appearances on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Community. He also voiced the Producer on The Magic School Bus.
Born in New Jersey, Warner began acting young and was selected by Bill Cosby himself to play Theo. He also directed music videos and episodes of shows like Kenan & Kel and All That, as well as the 1992 educational video Time Out: The Truth About HIV, AIDS, and You.
Warner’s career spanned decades and genres, making him a beloved and respected figure in entertainment.
