The Major Investigation Division (MID) has joined other security agencies investigating the outbreak of violence in Steer Town, St. Ann.
This was confirmed by the commander of the St. Ann police division, Senior Superintendent (SSP) Calvin Small.
SSP Small sought to assure residents of Steer Town on Monday that the police will maintain an increased presence in the community for as long as necessary.
That response came amid a deadly feud between hostile factions in the community.
Fear of violence in the community has heightened following the killing of two men in Mammee Bay on Sunday.
