Pop singer Lizzo takes aim at how her appearance and actions are discussed by the public and criticized by those who spread gossip online.

The singer has faced online abuse, much of it weight-related or racist, since dropping her track “Rumors”, which features Cardi B.

The abuse became so intense that Lizzo broke down in tears on Instagram Live.

She tearfully called some of the criticism out for being “fatphobic” and “racist.” “It’s fatphobic, it’s racist and it’s hurtful,” Lizzo said. “What I won’t accept is y’all doing this to Black women over and over and over again, especially us big Black girls. When we don’t fit into the box that you want to put us in, you just unleash hatred onto us. It’s not cool.” Lizzo added that while she focuses on providing positivity through her platforms, she sometimes feels like the world “doesn’t love me back”.

It is also being reported that Facebook has taken a stand in defending the ‘Good As Hell’ singer by deleting comments on her Facebook and Instagram accounts that are deemed to violate their policies against hate speech, harassment and bullying.
