Iconic rapper Lil Wayne has revealed that amid the Super Bowl drama, he has spoken to fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar and wished K. Dot well for his upcoming halftime performance.
In a sit-down interview with Skip Bayless, Weezy confirmed that there is no bad blood between him and Kendrick Lamar, despite his disappointment at not being selected to perform in his hometown for the major halftime show.
Earlier this year, it was announced that the “Not Like Us” rapper was chosen to rock the stage in New Orleans.
Wayne publicly stated his disappointment at being snubbed. Kendrick remained silent but later took to the rap sheet on his latest GNX album to make his commentary on the situation.
Bayless brought up the lyrics from K. Dot’s song “Wacced Out Murals,” which goes, “That was my first time hearing it. I think he’s a fan like I’m a fan of his music. I think he meant he saw what everyone else saw, he saw how much it meant to me […] He didn’t let me down.”
Weezy said that though he did not hear the lyrics of the track, he still has no bad blood with his fellow rap star.
