A week after the late rapper’s memorial service and funeral, Lil Wayne reminisced about DMX at the Trillerfest last Saturday.

He remembered the first time he met DMX in 2000 when the two embarked on the joint Ruff Ryders/Cash Money Tour.

In his lengthy speech, Wayne said, “So back then, we went on this tour called the Cash Money Ruff Ryders tour. See, being from New Orleans, it’s so far away from New York and Cali and we didn’t know if it was real when we seen it on TV, the New York guys, the LA people. So when we saw DMX, we all fell in love”, he told his audience.

Wayne paid tribute right before he performed “Uproar”. He also dedicated “Uproar” to Swizz Beatz who is also the song’s producer. He also mentioned that Swizz was hit real hard by DMX’s death.
