A sample of iceberg lettuce supplied by Taylor Farms has tested positive for Cyclospora, the parasite linked to a widespread diarrhoea outbreak in the US.
The FDA said the sample was not part of the company’s current voluntary removal of affected lettuce from central Mexico.
At least 94 people have been hospitalised, with thousands of infections reported across several states.
Taylor Farms and health officials are continuing investigations while advising consumers to avoid certain recalled lettuce products.
