LEICESTER CITY WIN APPEAL AGAINST DECISION OVER PSR CHARGE

Share

Former English Premier League champions, Leicester City, successfully won an appeal against a potential points deduction for allegedly breaching Premier League profit and sustainability rules.

An independent panel determined that the Premier League lacked jurisdiction to penalize the club, as Leicester had been relegated to the EFL Championship by the end of their accounting period on June 30, 2023.

The Premier League expressed disappointment in the ruling, while Leicester maintained that they only sought fair application of the rules.

After being charged for overspending, Leicester appealed, and the final decision was revealed on Tuesday.
