KSAMC UNVEILS NEWEST MURALS IN DOWNTOWN KINGSTON, PAYING HOMAGE TO REGGAE MUSIC

The Kingston & St. Andrew Municipal Corporation KSAMC has unveiled its newest set of commissioned murals in downtown Kingston, paying homage to some of Jamaica’s pioneers of Reggae Music.

On Tuesday, Mayor of Kingston Delroy Williams tweeted: “the transformation of Mark Lane into a space of musical history and culture has started.”

Mayor Williams also indicated that this latest phase of the #PaintJamaica project, focuses on bringing “recreational and historical spaces” to life, while providing work for creatives during these challenging times.

The murals of the late Peter Tosh, Gregory Isaacs, Desmond  Decker, Millie Small, Bunny Wailer and Sister Nancy, have all been immortalized by young creatives Roshane “Paige” Taylor, Simone Racquel Williams, Joshua Solas, Anna-Lisa Guthrie, and Monique Kidd.
