The Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) is reminding event organizers planning Carnival watch parties and other festivities that all applications for amusement licences must be submitted by April 11, accompanied by the necessary documentation.
Required documents include: proof of insurance, a fire brigade certificate, a detailed site layout, and a no-objection letter from the Health Department if food will be served at the event.
Speaking at the KSAMC’s monthly meeting on Tuesday, Mayor Andrew Swaby stressed that proper waste disposal arrangements are also a critical requirement. Failure to comply may result in permits being denied.
While enforcing these guidelines, the KSAMC expressed its commitment to working closely with event promoters to support a successful and well-organized Carnival season.
To date, the Corporation has held two meetings with Carnival Jamaica stakeholders and has received permit applications from Xodus, Yard Mas, and GenXS. These applications are currently under review by the relevant departments.
Jamaica’s Carnival festivities are in full swing and will conclude with the highly anticipated road march on Sunday, April 27.
