KSAMC PUTS HOLD ON PERMITS GRANTED FOR STAGING EVENTS AT IT’S NEW KINGSTON PARKING LOTS

The Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation KSAMC has indicated that effective today (Wed), not permits will be granted for the staging of entertainment events in New Kingston parking lots, owned by the Corporation until further notice.

The spaces include but not limited to, the lot behind the supermarket on St. Lucia Way, the lot at the intersection of St. Lucia Avenue and Grenada Crescent, the lot between Dominica Drive and Trinidad Terrace and the lot on Grenada Way behind Pan Caribbean.

The Corporation said event promoters and coordinators must not advertise these locations and are to comply with the order.

Meanwhile, the KSAMC has issued a reminder to members of the public that feeding of the homeless on the streets of Kingston, will not be tolerated.

Feeding must be done, at designated and closed areas, or buildings prescribed by the Corporation’s Poor Relief Department.

The KSAMC also ordered persons feeding the homeless on the streets, especially along King Street, to cease and desist the activity with immediate effect.

It said persons should contact the Poor Relief Department for information.
