Dancehall deejay Kraff is clearing the air following his last-minute cancellation of the Galiday Bounce New Year’s Eve event in New York.
The show, which was set for Amazura Concert Hall and billed with Kraff as the headliner, ultimately did not go forward after his withdrawal.
In a statement issued Thursday, Kraff’s management said the cancellation was due to unresolved contractual issues, including a lack of confirmation on the agreed deposit and unfinished travel arrangements, despite what they describe as repeated good-faith efforts to resolve the matter.
They added that the decision wasn’t taken lightly and apologized to fans who were looking forward to the event, while stressing their commitment to working with promoters who meet professional standards.
The statement follows criticism from event promoter Galdiez Mendez, who accused Kraff of not fulfilling contractual obligations and demanded the return of payments allegedly made.
Kraff’s team, however, maintains that outstanding issues remained unresolved and says the performance was never finalized or approved as a benefit concert.
