Kim Kardashian West’s latest move keeps in line with the Kardashian family tradition for the future heirs and heiresses.
The mother of four filed a trademark for Psalm West, the name of Kim and Kanye’s two-week old newborn.
Legal documents show that the application that was filed would allow the name’s use for a multitude of things such as hair accessories, entertainment services, personal appearances, skin care, puppets, puzzles, toy jewelry, and more.
While it is yet to be determined if Kim and Kanye’s fourth child will enter any of these businesses, a trademark would allow him the legal right to leverage his own name for branding purposes, should he wish to do so in the future.
It also prevents others from using it for monetary gain.
The motion is not surprising; in addition to Kim giving the same treatment to her other three children (Saint, North, and Chicago), Khloé and Kylie Jenner have also filed for trademarks for the names of their respective children, True and Stormi.
