American actress Katy Perry is in her extra-terrestrial era, and she is taking things to a “whole nother level.”

Perry’s fellow space travellers include CBS host Gayle King, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, film producer Kerianne Flynn, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, and journalist Lauren Sanchez. Sanchez, who is engaged to Jeff Bezos, played a key role in organising the expedition through his company, Blue Origin.

The mission will take them 65 miles above Earth for a brief 10-minute journey aboard the New Shepard rocket.
King, reflecting on her decision to join the mission, revealed on CBS Mornings that she sought advice from her children—and Oprah Winfrey—before saying yes.
Perry and King join a growing list of celebrities who have ventured into space with Blue Origin. Star Trek legend William Shatner made history in 2021 as the oldest person to travel to space.
The countdown has begun, and soon, Katy Perry and her crew will soar beyond the stars.
