Kanye West made a surprise appearance at a comedy show this week, stopping by US comedian Deon Cole’s set at the Hollywood Improv. This, amidst a slew of sold-out shows at LA’s SoFi Stadium.
During the appearance, Ye confidently declared himself untouchable in a Verzuz battle, pointing out that even major hits like “Gold Digger” and “Touch the Sky” didn’t make his recent set lists.
The moment sparked debate online about who could match his catalogue.
But just hours later, the conversation shifted to recent reports of the UK Home Office denying his travel application for a planned headline set at the Wireless Festival, citing past antisemitic remarks.
The festival appearance was ultimately cancelled, with ticket holders refunded.
Ye has since responded, saying he’s open to meeting with representatives of London’s Jewish community.
